I commish a couple of fantasy football leagues. Following a merger, this year’s (2025) work league got….big. Sixteen teams was the largest league I’d ever run. In an effort to keep things exciting, here’s what we did:
- We divided the league into two, 8-team conferences, setting them up as individual leagues in Sleeper.
- We played a 14 game regular season schedule, so you played everyone in your conference twice.
- Conference playoffs started in week 15 (after byes were done, of course). Conference champions were then crowned in week 16.
- To determine the overall champion, I created a Google Sheet and the conference champions submitted their lineups to me for week 17. I’m plugging in all the stats to calculate scoring. This dashboard serves to show the head-to-head match up of our conference champions and determine the overall winner!
We also came up with some tiebreakers just in case our conference winners happened to have the exact same starting lineup. Big shoutout to my co-commissioner, David, for running the second conference. It’s been a fun experience!
